    Introduction

    Our body is made up of so many substances. Some of them organic and some of them are inorganic. Major portion of animal body is composed of water but the interesting thing is that if we look at the chemical composition of water then it is also made up of hydrogen and oxygen. Some important inorganic substances needed for functioning of body these are know as minerals. Minerals are also two types major and minor minerals.

    Importance of calcium plays role in many of your body’s basic functions.  In this article will discuss importance of calcium and rich source of calcium in our day to day life.

    What is Calcium ?

    Calcium is one of the important major minerals of earth. It is also plays an important role in the formation of any organism. It is one of the important mineral which is required for the life. It is having a vital role in the formation of bone and other tissues of the body. It helps in the formation of strong bone and in the coordination between brain and various parts of the animal body. It is also plays a role in the secretion and formation of the various hormone of the human body.

    It also involves in the various essential metabolic pathways which happens the animal body the  proper functioning of our body. Calcium is involve the the fetal development and skeletal development of the baby in the womb of the mother.

    What Are the Importance of Calcium in Body ?

    As it is described that calcium is very important mineral of not only our body but also on the earth.

    There is certain roles of calcium our body like

    • Bone formation and health
    • Teeth and gum health
    • Coordination of tissues with brain
    • Blood pressure control
    • Prevents colon cancer
    • Prevents poor body growth
    • Helpful in the metabolic process

    Bone formation and bone health- our body is made up of flesh and bones if go through the chemical analysis of the bone then we come to know that major mineral of the bone is calcium. During last three four weeks of pregnancy huge demand of calcium for the development of skeletal system of new baby. After formation of the skeletal system calcium required for the proper health of the bone.

    Teeth and gum health- teeth and gums are the important part of our mouth for the proper health and digestion Teeth and gum of animal should be healthy. Calcium is required for maintain the health of both. When new teeth of baby comes calcium is required so it plays a role the health of teeth and gum.

    Coordination of tissues with brain – calcium is required for the excitation of nervous system. For neuronal transmission calcium required and it causes the contraction of muscles. Due to this property of causing excitation of nerve cells called neurons calcium plays an critical role in the transmission of nerve signal from one part of the animal body to the central processing unit of the body which is our mighty brain. So calcium is required for proper coordination of the body of animal.

    Blood pressure control– calcium is associated with the so many metabolic pathways of animal body. One of them is RAAS (Renin angiotensin aldosterone system). This pathway is important in the maintenance of blood pressure and renal system working so we can say that calcium is also related with the control of blood pressure.

    Prevents colon cancer- hyperproliferation of the colonic epithelium may leads to the cancer of colon. Supplementation of the calcium reduces this tendency of the hyperproliferation of the colon. The of calcium is done the feeding and watering which is the most easy way of supplementing the calcium in the body.

    Prevents poor body growth- as we know that our body needs so many vitamins and minerals mineral for the growth and development of the body. Calcium is one of them. It is helpful in the development of the bone, tissues and so many internal organs. Milk of mother also contains calcium which helps In the growth of new born baby.

    Helpful in the metabolic process- metabolic process are the activities which occurs in the body for completion of so many important activities. Like TCA cycle, glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation, RAAS etc. calcium is required in the completion of the some of them hence helpful in the proper working of the animal body. In RAAS system calcium helps in the maintaining of blood pressure of our body and also helps in the prevention of shock our body.

    After knowing the importance of the calcium in our body it is very obvious question which comes our mind that what are the major source of calcium in our day to day life. After knowing about them we can easily involve them in the our diet and prevents so many problems which can arise due to the calcium deficiency. These easily available in our surroundings.

    Very good thing is that calcium can be obtained not only form the non-veg sources but a major group of vegetables and dairy products comes in this category. So it dose not matter a person is vegetarian or non vegetarian. For the better understanding of the sources of calcium Here is the list.

    Conclusion

    Our body requires so many vitamins and minerals for the proper working. Calcium is one of them. Importance of calcium is that it helps in the formation of the bones and coordinating with the other body organ by helping the excitation of nerve cells. Other then this calcium helpful in so many other functions like Teeth and gum health, blood pressure control, prevention of colon cancer, prevention of poor body growth and functioning of metabolic pathways.

    There is so many things which we can add our diet for fulfilling the requirement of calcium in our body like milk, orange, tofu, yogurt, cheese, salmon, meat, eggs broccoli etc. by adding these things in our diet we can prevent so many problems which are associated the deficiency of calcium.
